The IFTTT integration ecosystem is always growing and evolving. This year, we introduced a long list of new services, and added to our library of triggers, queries, and actions for existing services. We also updated some popular services to use better, faster, and more advanced systems to benefit the IFTTTers who rely on them.
This blog will give you an overview of some of our top additions of 2024. Now is a great time to try out a new Applet, or add a second action or query to one of your existing Applets.
Most popular new services
TikTok, Google Chat, and ChatGPT were among out most popular new services published this year. These services make it possible to automate your communication, get AI-drafted responses, and create all-new ways to simplify your social sharing. New actions
While we love seeing new services coming to IFTTT, we also love to evolve our integrations by adding highly-requested triggers, queries, and actions to some of our most popular services. Notifications, LinkedIn, and YouTube all received valuable upgrades this year.
The new notification action, Send rich notification to the IFTTT mobile widget, makes it possible to get notifications right to the home screen of your iOS or Android device. You can learn more about setting up your notification widgets on Android here and on iOS here.
On LinkedIn, a suite of new actions has unlocked the possibility of Sharing a link, Sharing an update with an image, and Sharing an update with a video. All of these actions extend your ability to automatically share meaningful content across your favorite social platforms.
YouTube's highly requested action to Upload a video from a URL makes it possible to upload a video to YouTube from a URL. One of the best elements of this action is that it will upload the video to either a short or a long-form video based on the length and the aspect ratio of the linked video.
Finally, our popular AI queries, such as the AI Content Creator and AI summarizer services, got a big upgrade to ChatGPT's 4o mini. According to OpenAI, GPT-4o mini surpasses GPT-3.5 Turbo and other small models on academic benchmarks across both textual intelligence and multimodal reasoning, and supports the same range of languages as GPT-4o. Integrating our AI services with GPT-4o mini means queries run more efficiently and more reliably, with improved responses.

New for productivity and small business automation
Our ever-expanding tools for productivity and small business users are a key way IFTTTers have automated the things in their life in 2024. IFTTT users can now receive and Send WhatsApp Messages in IFTTT Applets to trigger different actions on your automations or send notifications using the InOut WhatsApp Receive/Send Message integration. Additionally, we have introduced all-new ways to integrate your small business's communication and survey collection needs. These great services are just a taste of the many other ways we are making it easier than ever to simplify and integrate the workflows in your life.

New AI tools and queries
IFTTT's newest AI queries have been trained to cater to different social platforms to help you draft and create optimized content. Instead of generating a single prompt to re-share across platforms, our platform-specific AI queries will suggest templates, scripts, and draft content that matches the tone, audience, and requirements of each social media destination. Instead of sharing the same content five times, these queries allow you to cater to your distinctive audiences and generate messaging that will resonate more meaningfully with each one.

Even more ways to integrate and automate
The services highlighted above are only a portion of the new services that have been added to IFTTT over the last year. Take a look at some of our other new additions below. You can always check out what's new on IFTTT in our monthly newsletters or using our new service filter on the Explore page.
More ways to use AI to automate with IFTTT
Our team has been proud to add to our AI functionality in addition to the many new services and features we have added to IFTTT this year. Our AI Applet creation tool and our custom GPT within ChatGPT are two powerful ways that you can simplify automation.
AI Applet creation
By selecting the AI tab within the IFTTT Create page, you can now enter a prompt in natural language and have AI generate your Applet on your behalf. Once the Applet has been generated, you can easily connect the Applet or edit the trigger and action(s) that the tool has suggested. In the event you do not like the Applet suggested, you are welcome to modify your prompt and try again.
You can see Tripp demonstrate how to use this tool in the video below.
IFTTT Automation assistant GPT
We were proud to be one of the first GPTs available when OpenAI introduced GPTs earlier this year. To try our IFTTT automation assistant GPT for yourself, you can search it in the GPT store or go here. You can ask the assistant for troubleshooting support or authenticate your IFTTT account and trigger actions from within the GPT itself (pretty cool, eh?). This means you can keep a chat open in one window that allows you to turn lights on, send yourself a message, or add an event to a calendar. It's like having a personal assistant available to you at any time.
